There is a busy summer of cheese ahead, with vineyard tastings, and cheesemaking courses abound! For now, here’s our round up of what’s on this July; if it’s worth doing, we’ve got it! But do keep an eye on our events page and courses page as we are always adding more.
1. Cheese & Sparkling Wine Vineyard Tour & Tasting
Join us on this unique cheese and wine tasting event, overlooking Squerryes Estate vines and discover why French cheese and English Sparkling Wines are the perfect pairing companions. Included is a tour of the winery followed by a tutored tasting of six cheeses and six wines.
2. Level Two Member Certification: in-person course with hands-on cheese making
Now’s the perfect time to develop your cheese knowledge with our Level Two Certification and get hands-on cheesemaking experience at the same time! Learn how breed, season and lactation stage influence the flavour of the finished cheese, whilst getting to know the different types of starter cultures, rennet, bacteria and moulds and the role they play in cheese making.
3. Quicke’s Home Farm Experience
Take the Cheese Tour at Quicke’s and you will see from the ground up, how they craft the award-winning cheese on their farm in Devon. The tour includes learning how cheddar is made, exploring the ‘Cathedral of Cheese’ where huge truckles come of age and sampling their cheeses, before tucking into a delicious lunch.
4. George & Joseph Summer Warehouse Party
The award-winning Leeds cheese monger has teamed up with Wayward Wines to co-host this monthly event at their railway arches in Leeds City centre. With large, south-facing sun-trap courtyards, it’s the perfect spot for an al-fresco cheese and wine party.
5. Little Mouse Cheese & Wine Tasting Goes on Tour
The team at Little Mouse Cheese invite you to eat, drink and be merry with them as they take their famous cheese and wine tastings on tour with five South London venues confirmed for July.
