The Finalists for Young Cheesemonger of the Year 2022 have now been shortlisted!
We’ve shortlisted the six finalists who will be competing against each other at the World Cheese Awards to win the title of Young Cheesemonger of the Year 2022. Thank you to everyone who applied; competition was fierce this year.

When will Young Cheesemonger of the Year be announced?
The winner will be announced during dinner at the World Cheese Awards on November 2nd 2022
Young Cheesemonger of the Year entry form
The Young Cheesemonger Award supports young talent in the Cheese Industry. Applicants must be under the age of 30 at the date of the competition, which will take place during the World Cheese Awards to be held at International Conference Centre, Newport, Wales on 2nd November 2022. Successful applicants will be informed before 30th September 2022 and invited to take part in the finals hosted at the World Cheese Awards on 2nd November 2022. The winner receives the coveted title of Young Cheesemonger 2022, a trophy, a feature in Fine Food Digest and Academy of Cheese Level Two certification course. They will also be invited to judge at the World Cheese Awards 2023.

How will Young Cheesemonger of the Year be judged?
Young Cheesemongers will be invited to take part in the finals at the World Cheese Awards on November
2nd to take part in four rounds
Round One: Discuss their cheeseboard selection
Round Two: Demonstrate their ‘Cut & Wrap’ skills cutting & wrapping different cheeses
Round Three: Identify different cheeses using SATC model
Round Four: Take part in MasterRind a quiz about cheese from around the world.
Justin Tunstall will compere the competition, interview the competitors in round
one and ask the questions in MasterRind.
