Spotlight On Justin Tunstall

Justin Tunstall, award-winning cheesemonger-turned cheese judge, consultant and overall food champion will be compering at the Young Cheesemonger of the Year award finals, being held on 2nd November at the World Cheese Awards in Newport, Wales.


Justin entered the world of cheese in 2009, when he left his media career and returned to his hometown of Lyme Regis to open Town Mill Cheesemonger, soon gaining accolades for an impressive range of West Country cheese and knowledgeable service.

Justin has presented Young Cheesemonger of the Year since its inception in 2017. He penned a monthly cheese column for Speciality Food Magazine for 7 years and is a sought after judge of Cheese and other Fine Foods, and of Hospitality venues. He has judged at the World Cheese Awards since 2009 and is a committee member for the British Cheese Awards.


Winning Best New Cheese Retailer at the British Cheese Awards within 3 months of opening, the Town Mill Cheesemonger punched well above its weight and quickly achieved national renown. Innovative events led to the shop featuring on BBC Radios 2, 4 and 6, as well as ITV’s The Hungry Sailors and a memorable appearance on Test Match Special.
