HANDS-ON CHEESE MAKING IN SOMERSET

Having grown up on her parents’ family farm in New Zealand, Louise Talbot has a natural affinity with the land and a heart very much in the countryside. She has been making cheese for over 20 years in both domestic and commercial environments. Louise loves to share her passion for cheese by teaching new skills to like-minded people of all ages.

Louise’s Level 1 Associate one day course is suitable for those with a love of cheese right through to industry professionals. The course totally immerses you in all things cheese and dairy, and as a part of the day you will make your own cheese in the new training kitchens at Bath & West Rural Enterprise Centre.

Cheese eLearning is here

Our online course is a great starting point for the novice cheese enthusiast, those starting a career in the cheese industry, or for long distance learners. Our eLearning programme gives you the flexibility to study when and where you want, to fit around your existing commitments.

The Level 1 Associate online course covers the same syllabus as the classroom course. On signing up you will have access to your own personal Learning Road, the Academy cheese library detailing all Level 1 & 2 cheeses and a PDF version of the delegate pack. The multiple choice exam is also online and requires you to get 24 marks or above, from a possible 30 questions, to pass and gain Level One Associate certification.  Price £135.

You will need to source, taste and assess the 25 cheeses yourself. However, there is even a Level One cheese tasting pack available to buy online from iconic cheesemongers Paxton & Whitfield.

NB. CLASSROOM learners get free access to online eLearning when training with one of our Training Partners.
