This one-day (8-hour) certified course is the ideal starting point for anyone who wants to explore the world of cheese in a structured and engaging way. The Academy of Cheese Level 1 offers a globally recognized foundation in cheese knowledge, suitable for both professionals and enthusiasts. Whether you’re a chef, sommelier, hospitality professional, food retailer, mixologist, restaurateur, a student aiming to build a career in the cheese industry, or simply someone who loves cheese, this course equips you with the skills, confidence, and vocabulary to understand and talk about cheese at a professional level.

Delivered in English, the course covers milk types, cheesemaking, classification, storage, service, and food pairing. You’ll learn the Academy’s Structured Approach to Tasting and taste 15 carefully selected cheeses spanning a range of styles and origins. You’ll also gain access to the online learning platform, where you’ll study a library of 25 key cheeses to reinforce your learning. Participants receive printed study materials, a cheese tasting sheet, and practical tools for applying what they’ve learned in real-world settings. Led by a certified trainer, the session is interactive, practical, and designed to spark lasting interest and confidence in the world of cheese. Upon completion of the online exam, you’ll earn the Level 1 Associate Certificate and Pin Badge from the Academy of Cheese.
