About Rick Kan
As a dedicated wine and cheese enthusiast, Rick Kan brings a wealth of interdisciplinary expertise to the table. He holds the WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust and has successfully achieved both Level 1 and Level 2 Certification of the Academy of Cheese. He is currently pursuing Level 3, and is expected to complete the final coursework and assessment in the near future. Rik is the first accredited Training Partner in Taiwan and teaches the Level One Certification to cheese professionals and enthusiasts at the YuanLiu School in Taipei.
Rick is currently employed by a hospitality consultancy firm, where he leverages his deep knowledge in wine, gastronomy, and holistic wellness to conduct regular food and wine pairing events and provide tailored tasting education for wine importers and restaurant professionals. With a passion for enhancing wine and cheese education, he has trained both industry experts and casual enthusiasts, helping them develop a more refined understanding and appreciation of sensory experiences. His unique perspective and culturally attuned teaching style make him a valuable contributor to the development of a comprehensive and engaging cheese education program in our region.
