Young Cheesemonger of the Year 2026 Finalist and Owner of Stockport Provisions, located in the historic Stockport Market Halls.
From Michelin Kitchens to His Own Cheese Shop
Based in his hometown of Stockport, Cheshire, Harrison opened Stockport Provisions in July 2025 after a career in food and wine that spanned both professional kitchens and sommelier roles.
Harrison worked at a number of highly regarded restaurants and food businesses, including Flawd, Higher Ground, Where The Light Gets In and The Old Coastguard. These experiences, many of which achieved national and international recognition, gave him a strong appreciation for produce and the people behind it. It was during his time at Flawd, a leading wine bar in the North, that he developed a particular passion for cheese.
The opportunity to reopen an old cheese shop in Stockport Market presented Harrison with the chance to establish his own business in his hometown, bringing together his experience in food, wine (Harrison holds WSET Level 3 in Wines) and hospitality. His ambition is to develop Stockport Provisions into a respected cheesemonger with a stronger focus on affinage, building on the foundations of the business and its connection to the local community.
