What’s Happening in the Cheese World this Month – November 22

There’s the small matter of the World Cheese Awards this month, which always causes a stir in the global cheese industry. Whilst this is happening in the first week of November, there are still plenty of other cheese events happening throughout the month. Here’s our round up of what’s on this November; if it’s worth doing, we’ve got it! But do keep an eye on our events page and courses page as we are always adding more.

CHEESE event

1. World Cheese Awards / World Cheese Market

A truly global cheese event, the World Cheese Awards brings together cheesemakers, retailers, buyers, consumers and food commentators worldwide to judge nearly 4,000 cheeses from over 40 countries. The World Cheese Market takes place alongside the Awards at the International Convention Centre, on the 2nd November.

This event is only open to trade, but you can keep abreast of all of the medal winners here.

Pre-event registration will be required for all trade and press visitors.

3. Cheesemaking and Tasting at The Cheese Shop with Sarah Burt

Spend an evening learning all about cheese. In this workshop you’ll get hands on making a soft ‘lactic’ cheese and a soft blue with cheesemaker Claire Burt. You’ll also be expertly guided through the different styles of cheeses, with a tasting from Ann Faulkner from The Cheese Shop in Chester.

These fun 2.5 hours workshop are a great introduction to cheese-making; perfect for the cheese enthusiast.

4. Artisan Food, Drink and Craft Market at The Stables, Long Crendon Manor
