What’s Happening in the Cheese World This Month: June 2023


With the cows, goats, sheep and buffalo finally turned outside to graze on their spring pastures, we’re excited to see the season’s young, fresh cheeses reaching cheese counters up and down the country. We’re also excited about all the wonderful cheese events, markets and tastings taking place this June; if it’s worth doing, we’ve got it! 1. Affineur of the Year 2023: Finals Event

Join us and our highly respected line-up of cheesemongers and cheesemakers as they present their competition Cheddars, Blue Stiltons and Baron Bigods to the judges’ table. Their cheeses will be scored on flavour, aroma, texture, appearance and innovation. Be part of this celebration of affinage, hear the judge’s comments and taste all of the competition cheeses.


2. International Cheese & Dairy Awards / Love Cheese Live

Entering its 127th year, the International Cheese & Dairy Awards is the World’s leading cheese and dairy awards, showcasing over 5,000 cheeses and dairy products from all four corners of the globe. The Awards are followed by Love Cheese Live, a food & drink festival open to the general public.

3. Mould – A Cheese Festival, Australia

After a sell-out tour in 2022, Mould – A Cheese Festival is back! Celebrating crumbly cheddar, gooey camembert and bitey blue, by the best artisan producers from across the country, there is also a great range of hand picked wine, beer, cider, sake and nibbles for you to enjoy between cheese tastes and to take home. Melbourne, Sydney & Perth dates available.

4. Level One Associate Certification with NEW Australian Training Partner, The Cheeseboard

Unleash your inner cheese geek and grow your knowledge by understanding the cheese make process and the importance of providence with our new Brisbane-based Training Partner. The Cheeseboard are the first to provide the Level One classes in Australia, and have designed the course to be fun and very informative. Students will be taught in small groups and during the three-session course you will taste a selection of excellent cheeses.

5. Paxton & Whitfield “Cheese For Beer” Online Tasting

Paxton’s Jazz Reeves will be talking you through some of her favourite cheese and beer pairings, plus how she goes about finding the perfect combination.
