What will I learn?
We’ve worked with the Academy of Cheese to develop a course that meets the level of training required by our customers. It is run on our behalf by Charlie Turnbull.
The accreditation will follow a similar path to the globally recognised Wines & Spirits Educational Trust (WSET). This course is an introduction to all types of cheese and learning to taste cheese. Level One sees you taste 25 classic cheeses the Academy of Cheese way. By the end of this course you will be equipped to recognise the full spectrum of ‘cheese type’; name, appearance, how it is made, type of milk, how it is matured, whether it has a protected status and it’s geographical origin. You will be discussing the appearance, aroma and flavour of these cheeses; establishing a standard vocabulary for cheese tasting and profiling.
